Project-based IT engineering / Justin Tahai

Get it working.Get it finished.

A stubborn technical problem. An unfinished project. A workflow that should not take so much work. Hire me to investigate, build and finish the engineering—not just recommend the next step.

Systems, Microsoft cloud, networks, automation and software. One engineer, from investigation through verified completion.

Defined scope. Agreed pricing. No managed-service contract.

North Berwick, Maine · Remote and onsite work by arrangement.

Three ways to hire me

What needs to happen?

Bring a specific problem, a planned build or unfinished work. We will define the result, agree on the scope and price, and put the engineering into motion.

Services / scoped engagements

Technical depth.
Practical deliverables.

For businesses and technical teams that need hands-on engineering for a specific result—not another list of recommendations.

01

Complex troubleshooting & resolution

Get past the recurring fault.

For network, endpoint, identity and application problems that cross system boundaries. I investigate the environment, isolate the cause, implement a practical fix and verify that intended operation is restored.

Your deliverableA resolved issue, with the change and verification documented.

Discuss troubleshooting
02

Microsoft cloud & identity projects

Make your Microsoft environment work as intended.

Microsoft 365 and Azure configuration, identity and access, licensing, Active Directory and Group Policy changes. I work from your requirements through implementation and testing.

Your deliverableConfigured systems and access, tested against your requirements.

Discuss a cloud project
03

Network & infrastructure work

Get the change implemented—and checked.

Network-device deployment and configuration, Windows systems, VPN and Wi-Fi connectivity, and planned infrastructure changes. I check the affected systems and validate the result against the agreed requirements.

Your deliverableA deployed change with functional verification.

Discuss infrastructure work
04

Automation & integrations

Stop repeating work a tool can handle.

PowerShell, Python, Bash and C#/.NET tooling for repetitive tasks and connected workflows. I build around your actual environment, with testing, error handling and usable documentation.

Your deliverableA working automation or integration with operating instructions.

Discuss an automation
05

Software, web applications & utilities

Turn the requirement into a working tool.

Operational web applications, internal tools, self-service portals and Windows technician utilities. Requirements, implementation and testing are part of one engineering engagement.

Your deliverableA usable application or utility, tested against its defined scope.

Discuss a software project
06

Documentation & operational systems

Make the environment easier to understand.

Structured documentation, configuration records, asset context, repeatable procedures and practical reporting. I turn scattered technical information into systems built around actual use.

Your deliverableOrganized technical records and workflows your team can operate.

Discuss documentation work

Project-based and one-off engagements only. Scope, deliverables, access requirements and pricing are agreed before work begins. Additional work is agreed separately.

Bring the work that needs doing

You need a working result.
Let’s define the job.

A few sentences about the problem, the systems involved and your desired result are enough to begin.

Selected product engineering

Built, not just
administered.

Operational platforms and technician tools I have designed and built. This is the engineering behind the services—not a list of platforms I have merely used.

IT documentation platform

TAHAI IT Docs

A structured documentation platform connecting organizations, networks, configurations, policies and projects, with role-aware access, client visibility and audit evidence.

Engineering demonstratedInformation architecture, access controls and operational workflows.
Professional services automation

TAHAI PSA

Service-management workflows for dispatch, SLA tracking, agreements, time and expense, billing, procurement and client portals, with tenant-scoped access and automated verification.

Engineering demonstratedConnected business workflows and multi-tenant application engineering.
Operational intelligence

TAHAI Operational Intelligence

An operational workspace linking tickets, documentation, projects, assets and risk through relationship views, tenant-aware permissions and tamper-evident audit trails.

Engineering demonstratedCross-system context, permissions and traceable operations.
Windows technician toolkitRelease candidate

TAHAI IT Docs FIELDKIT

A standalone C#/.NET Windows toolkit for network discovery, diagnostics and switch-port tracing, with signed offline captures and client-ready PDF and Word reports.

Engineering demonstratedDesktop engineering, field diagnostics and usable technical reporting.
Windows browser

TAHAI Web Services Browser

A Chromium-powered Windows browser published through the Microsoft Store, designed around IT and development workflows.

Engineering demonstratedWindows application development and software distribution.

How I work

Ownership through
resolution.

I own the technical work from investigation and root-cause analysis through solution design, implementation, testing and verified resolution.

Scope defines the commitment. Verification defines completion. You know what the engagement is intended to deliver before implementation begins.

  1. Define the result

Agree on the problem, scope, deliverables, access requirements and what successful completion looks like.

  2. Investigate & design

Understand the environment, establish the cause or requirements, and select a practical technical approach.

  3. Implement & test

Do the engineering, validate the changes and work through the issues revealed by testing.

  4. Verify & close

Confirm the agreed result, document the work and close against the defined completion criteria.

Justin Tahai / Generalist IT Engineer

“I will find a way.”

I bring broad technical depth and persistence to unfamiliar problems. When the standard approach falls short, I research, test and keep working toward a practical resolution.

My background includes engineering and advisory roles at Logically, Ion Networking, DominionTech and Ekaru, alongside independent engineering at TAHAI Web Services. I combine hands-on infrastructure and Microsoft cloud work with automation, operational software and technician-tool development.

What happens next?

We clarify the problem and requirements, agree on the work and its price, then schedule the engagement by arrangement. Any assessment or expanded scope is agreed before that work begins.

How is the work priced?

Scope, deliverables and pricing are agreed before work begins. Describe the environment and the intended result so we can define the engagement. Additional work is agreed separately.

Can you finish an existing project?

Yes. Project completion is part of the offering. We assess the existing work, identify what remains and agree on a realistic completion scope. You do not need to present a finished specification to start the conversation.

Can the work be remote or onsite?

I am based in North Berwick, Maine. Remote and onsite work are by arrangement, with access requirements, location and timing discussed as part of the engagement.

Do I need a managed-service contract?

No. This is project-based engineering and one-off technical work. There are no managed-service contracts or recurring monitoring plans. Each engagement has its own scope and completion criteria.
